Ye Olde Games

Play games that you enjoy, over and over again.

"My freinds, we've had a long day. Who's for a round of tiles?"
Dragon's Tiles is a simple set of tiles with unique symbols for a number of game types. The simplest game is called The Hunt (See printable rules here), is a family friendly game that kids and parents can easily learn together. You can play this game with up to 4 players with one set of tiles, but you can add more players simply by adding more tile sets.

RULES
Here are a few common rule variants
  • The Hunt - This is the basic, family friendly rule set. Play eleven rounds and see who can earn the most points.
  • Old Verack - This rule set is similar to the basic Dragon's Tiles, but the goal is to end up with the least points at the end. Some of the tiles have changed what they do, so be sure to look at the rules.
  • Tens - In this game your goal is to collect 10 points without going over. Spread out all the tiles and flip one tile face up. This is the COMMON TILE. Everyone starts with the number of points on the common tile. Then each player takes a tile and secretly looks at it (be sure not to let anyone see the tiles in your hands). When every player has taken one tile, they MAY take another tile, or pass. This continues until all players have passed. Each tile is worth its face value (see the basic rules above). The only exception is the Devouring tile. Any player who gets both the Beast AND the Devouring tiles takes ten points. After all players have passed, they all reaveal their tiles. The player with the most points without going over 10 (remember to count the common tile) is the winner of that hand.
EXPANSION: The Great Hunt
The Dragon's Tiles are a versatile game tool. As with cards, or dice, the possibilities for game options are nearly endless. Some games require more than one set, and some games require a few extra pieces. Here are a few options so far.
  • STILL IN TESTING: Dragon's Hoard (Designed By Stephen Bowles): Dragon's Hoard requires one set of tiles for each player, and the basic rules for each tile are changed to meet the game's needs. You can play this game with up to six players if you dare. Detailed rules coming soon
  • STILL IN TESTING: Badlands is an exciting game pitting you against your friends in a race to accumulate as much treasure as possible. Unfortunately you must also work together each round to fend off the beast that has been ravaging your fields. Will you win, or will you all lose together?
